The Dhanrajs are blessed with a daughter. However, during childbirth, Dhanraj's wife dies and he blames his daughter for his wife's fate. He refuses to see her face and remarries. His daughter, Laxmi, grows up to be a beautiful woman who's ignored by her father and abused by her stepmother. The only person who stands by her is her half-brother. Laxmi soon gets married but fate seems to hold nothing new for her. She has a loving relationship with her husband, but her mother-in-law couldn't stand her and she too physically abuses her.

Ganga lives a poor lifestyle in a village along with her widowed dad, Ramdas. She is friendly with wealthy Jamuna, who is the only daughter of Thakur Dharam Singh. She comes to the rescue of an unconscious male, who later identifies himself as Shyam, who had run away from home as his dad, Thakur Veer Singh, was forcing him to get married. Ganga falls in love with him and informs her father accordingly. Both make a journey to Ganga's aunt to collect jewelry for her marriage. When they return Jamuna is thrilled when she finds out that Ganga is getting engaged but is devastated when she finds out that her best friend's to-be fiancé is none other than Shyam. Both inseparable companions, who always held hands in friendship, now exchange slaps and each vows to get married to Shyam. The question remains: who will Shyam get married to?

A lyrical comedy; an escape to nature for a civil servant tired of everyday life and the monotony of life becomes an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of existence; it helps to regain mental balance. Henry, an exemplary husband and civil servant, returns to the places of his childhood, wants to find the treasure buried decades ago by Tereska, who fell in love with him. Along the way, he picks up two boys and two girls, who begin to compete for him. One of the boys assaults him when Henry digs up a bottle containing, it turns out, Tereska's love letter. The youngsters notify Henryk's wife of his whereabouts.
